Davron Introduces Movable Continuous Conveyor Oven to Cure Epoxy Compound
Chattanooga, TN (PRWEB) April 24, 2014 -- Davron Technologies, Inc. designed and manufactured the DTI-9378, an electrically heated continuous conveyor oven. Seven of these custom conveyor ovens are used by Davron’s customer to cure an epoxy compound used in the manufacturing of golf clubs. Capable of curing three parts per minute, the DTI-9378 is fitted with casters. This provides the customer with the ability to move the continuous conveyor ovens to different work stations within the factory, providing them with flexibility during their curing process. This modular solution was preferred over a much larger stationary oven that would have occupied a great deal of floor space in the production area.
Featuring one electric heater, the custom oven can be programmed to operate between 150ᴼ and 400ᴼF. Equipped with a Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR), the oven automatically adjusts voltage to maintain the desired temperature in the curing chamber with minimal energy expenditure. Heated air is impinged on the product in a vertical top-down pattern through Davron’s proprietary air distribution system. Product is moved through the curing chamber on a flat wire conveyor belt. The conveying system utilizes a variable frequency drive (VFD) for speed adjustment. This allows the customer to adjust the cure time to suit the product being processed in the oven.
The useable dimensions of the curing chamber are 2’0” wide x 0’7” high x 5’2” long. The interior of the oven is made out of 16-gauge aluminized steel backed by four inches of eight-pound density mineral wool insulation. The exterior is constructed of 16-gauge carbon steel backed by a structural steel frame and finished with high temperature paint. The oven includes two removable panels, one on each side of the oven, that provide access to the heated chamber for maintenance.
Davron designed the DTI-9378 continuous conveyor oven based on two criteria provided by the customer: the production rate per hour and the time required for curing. Once the continuous conveyor oven was manufactured, Davron did acceptance testing and training with the customer at Davron headquarters in Chattanooga, Tenn., prior to shipment.
