Daytona Beach Police Department Launches Its Real Time Crime Center Powered by CyberTech’s GeoShield Software
Daytona Beach, FL (PRWEB) July 04, 2014 -- The Daytona Beach Police Department is charged with maintaining public safety for over 60,000 permanent residents and the millions of yearly visitors to the beaches and major events such as two NASCAR races and the world famous Bike Weeks. Leveraging CyberTech’s GeoShield™ platform, Daytona Beach’s Real Time Crime Center combines access to many data sources and searchable documents to provide workflows for tracking requests, generating “be on the lookout” (BOLO) and Intelligence Bulletin documents and providing dispatch information to officers.
In the words of Chief Mike Chitwood, “Our Real Time Crime Center is another tool to support our crime management approach. By having faster and easier access to our own data and a team of people dedicated to working with that data, our officers will be safer and smarter which will make our citizens and visitors safer.” Although the RTCC has only been operational since June 1st, departmental staff has already contributed to solving several cases including stolen auto recovery, suspect identification, and joint operations between the Daytona Beach Police Department and surrounding agencies.
