Deadline Approaches for “Nobel Prize for Child Advocates” Nominations
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 13, 2014 -- Only three weeks remain before Nominations for World of Children Award’s prestigious Awards program close on April 1. The much-coveted Awards have been dubbed the “Nobel Prize for Child Advocacy.”
The annual Awards program honors the work of individuals who have made a significant impact in the lives of vulnerable children around the world. Winners of the 2014 Awards will be flown to New York City to be honored at an annual Awards Ceremony and given a substantial program grant to expand their work for children. Nominations can be submitted online at http://www.worldofchildren.org/nominate.
This year, World of Children Award is accepting Nominations for Awards in three categories:
2014 World of Children Youth Award – minimum grant of $25,000
The Youth Award recognizes a young person under the age of 21 who is making extraordinary contributions to the lives of other children. They must have been doing this work for at least three years, and have created a sustainable program that they plan to continue to lead.
2014 World of Children Health Award – minimum grant of $50,000
The Health Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to children in the fields of health, medicine or the sciences. This person must have created or managed a sustainable program that has significantly contributed to the health and well-being of children. The individual’s work on behalf of children must be over and above their normal employment and they must have been doing this work for a minimum of 10 years.
2014 World of Children Humanitarian Award – minimum grant of $50,000
The Humanitarian Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to children in social services, education or humanitarian services. This person must have created or managed a sustainable program which has significantly contributed to children’s opportunities to be safe, to learn and to grow. The individual’s work on behalf of children must be over and above their normal employment and they must have been doing this work for a minimum of 10 years.
Nominations for the 2014 Awards must be submitted online by 11:59 pm Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Recipients of the 2014 Awards will be officially announced and honored in New York City on November 6, 2014.
