Debbie Kelly releases her second 'Alonzo the Chicken' chapter book, feathery fun for early readers (age 6+)
London, England (PRWEB UK) 23 October 2013 -- Alonzo and the Meteorite has all the fun elements of the first book (Alonzo and Molly the Mermaid), namely a superhero chicken with lots of style and a big and tricky case to solve.
This time the earth is spinning in the wrong direction following a meteorite crashing into the earth. Alonzo’s grand plan to restore the natural order involves marshalling thousands of birds as they flap their wings in unison. It’s a long shot but if anyone can do it...
Alonzo and the Meteorite is a real hoot! A chapter book for children aged 6-9 years old the story is barmy, imaginative and lots of fun for the early reader. Monika Filipina Trzpil’s illustrations support the text wonderfully well significantly adding to the story’s charms.
Debbie Kelly, who hails from Newbury, England, is thrilled with her literary journey so far. ‘The first book was so exciting and I was overwhelmed with the positive response to it. This time it’s less stressful as I know there’s an audience waiting for it – I just hope they love this one as much as the first’.
Neil Jeffries, a director of Digital Leaf, said, ‘Children like books that form a series. They fall in love with a character and want more stories that are similar. We hope there will be many more Alonzo the Chicken books to come in the future’.
This book has been printed to be dyslexic friendly, using a cream paper and a larger than average font size, in accordance with British Dyslexia Association guidelines.
