PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) December 03, 2015 -- While walking with the help of a cane may not be very unusual or particularly noticeable, seeing a brightly colored and decorative cane probably would attract some attention. Since most canes are very nondescript, an inventor from Barrie, Ontario, saw the need for a more attractive option.
She developed a prototype for the patent-pending CANE SKINS to transform a standard walking cane into an attractive conversation piece. As such, it raises the user’s spirits and encourages social interaction. In other words, it sheds a positive light on an otherwise negative situation. Furthermore, it is attractive, convenient and affordably priced. Besides being lightweight and interchangeable, it is also easy to apply and remove. Another advantage is that it remains securely in place to prevent loss. In addition, its simple design minimizes production costs.
The inventor’s personal experience inspired the idea. “I came up with this idea based on my own personal need to use a cane for walking after I had a hip replacement,” she said. “After I noticed how many people used canes and how plain they were, I decided there was a need to dress those canes up.”
The original design was submitted to the Toronto office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
