Defence Sector Inventions and Inventors to be Showcased During IDEX 2015
Abu Dhabi (PRWEB) December 31, 2014 -- The acclaimed International Defence Exhibition and Conference 2015 (IDEX) will be held from 22 through 26 February, 2015, at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company International Conventions Center (ADNEC ICC). The 25th and 26th of February will be dedicated to discussing and highlighting breakthrough defence technologies and innovations of the future at the inaugural Defence Innovation and Technology Conference (DITEC). The focus of DITEC 2015 is to discuss defence innovation, advanced technologies, and R&D programs that are developing new multipurpose capabilities. Opportunities and best practices for collaboration between governments, industry, and academia to advance innovation will also be discussed. Other key highlights of DITEC will be the exploration of ways to apply military innovations and technology in the civilian sector, intellectual property protection, and future requirements for military forces worldwide.
TDC commented that DITEC 2015 will be an excellent platform for any government and defence organization investing in advanced R&D. As he invited delegates to attend the event, Enrico Villa, Director of Enterprise Development and Innovation of the Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee said, “DITEC 2015 will provide a very unique opportunity for delegates attending the conference to gain valuable insights into ground-breaking technologies and innovations being developed in the defence industry.”
To make the Defence Innovation and Technology Conference 2015 (DITEC) a great success, TDC has sent invitations to the world’s most prominent experts, research institutions, and organizations that support the defence community. Invitees for the event include the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the European Defence Agency (EDA), the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft - German Research Foundation (DFG), the French Ministry of Defense (ASTRID), Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, and Boeing Phantom Works.
TDC was established to encourage and support the development of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) in Abu Dhabi. It is a multi-stakeholder government body that interfaces between government, business, and academia to realize a sustainable and diversified knowledge-based economy.
TDC launched Takamul in 2011 to foster innovation and generate economic and societal value in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. The program supports innovation within knowledge-intensive industries and aims to transform locally generated ideas into multipurpose activities that will seed economic advancement.
