Del Mar Announces Fresh 2014 Summer Music Lineup
Del Mar, CA (PRWEB) June 09, 2014 -- Del Mar has announced the lineup for its 2014 Summer Concert Series at the track, featuring the most eclectic mix of performers in the series’ 21-year history. This season’s star-studded lineup will appeal to all ranges of musical tastes and concert fans. Kicking off the musical fun is alternative hip-hop group Jurassic 5, followed by headliners such as electro house DJ Steve Aoki, British classic rock band The Cult, Neon Trees, and California’s own Counting Crows. Also, track favorites Weezer and Ziggy Marley are back to rock the house for their loyal San Diego fans.

• Friday, July 18 – Jurassic 5
• Friday, July 25 – The Cult
• Friday, August 1 – Neon Trees
• Saturday, August 2 – Weezer
• Friday, August 8 – Steel Pulse
• Saturday, August 9 – Counting Crows
• Friday, August 15 – MAGIC!
• Friday, August 22 – Special Guest TBA
• Friday, August 29 – Steve Aoki
• Sunday, August 31 – Reggae Festival with Ziggy Marley
All concerts are free with racetrack admission –$3 for Diamond Club members (free to sign up) and $6 at regular admission price. Admission for concertgoers entering after the final race is $20. Concerts will take place on the Seaside Stage at the west end of the Grandstand every Friday and select Saturdays and Sundays. Concerts begin shortly after the last race of the day. Pre-paid tickets, complimentary tickets and season passes will not be accepted for concert admission after the last race.
As always, Del Mar’s seven-week racing season will be packed with events to add to the summer racing excitement. Track fans will be able to enjoy such notable happenings on the summer calendar as: Craft Beer Festivals (July 26 and August 24), a Gourmet Food Truck Festival (August 16), and Del Mar Grill Fest (August 9). Back again will be Family Weekends and Free and Easy Wednesdays, along with many more activities.
Racing takes place Wednesday through Sunday with post time for the first race on most days at 2 p.m. On Fridays first post is shifted to 4 p.m. The Friday Concert Series is sponsored by Harrah’s Resort So Cal. The Summer Concert Series is sponsored by Coors Light, Heineken, Toyota and Jack in the Box.
