DELIA DESIGNS from Philadelphia Top Vote Getter in TabletopJournal.com’s Tabletop Challenge Design Contest
Millersville, MD (PRWEB) November 21, 2013 -- Delia Designs from Philadelphia has won the first annual Tabletop Challenge design competition at the recently completed International Hotel Motel and Restaurant Show in New York. Presented by TabletopJournal.com, the contest pitted five design groups racing against to clock to create their best tabletop using props from a “mystery box” and various products from world-class hospitality tabletop companies like Steelite, Rosenthal China, Sambonet, Norex Lighting, Eastern Tabletop, Arcoroc, Jono Pandolfi, and Hospitality Glass Brands.
Delia Designs principals Tina Delia and Gustavo Gutierrez created a themed tabletop using products from nearly all participating companies to win this closely contested event which was held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. With nearly 500 votes cast by show attendees, there was only a 25 vote spread between the winner and fifth place.
“We really tried to allow for the center of the table to be our main showpiece,” commented Tina Delia, Principal Designer for Delia Design. “That’s why we kept everything else on a lower profile. We thoroughly enjoyed the competition and working with products from Steelite, Jono Pandolfi and the other great sponsors”
Regarding the competition itself, TabletopJournal’s Editor Dave Turner commented, “Since this was our inaugural event, we weren’t quite sure what to expect. The great sponsors and their products really set the stage, and of course, the designers themselves made it an overall great event combining the best elements of tabletop product and design. The overall results were incredibly close.”
Delia Designs used a wide variety of products in the winning tabletop design:
Oval Server Dish – Jono Pandolfi
Nick & Nora Cocktail Glass – Steelite
Welsh Slate – Steelite
Twist Flatware – Sambonet
Table Lighting – Norex
White Sedona Sidedish – Steelite
Branch Style Bowl – Eastern Tabletop
Bormioli Rocco Water Glasses - Steelite
Sticky Bricks – Eastern Tabletop
