Deliver On Targets by Monitoring Drivers’ Hours in Real Time
(PRWEB UK) 1 August 2014 -- Picture the scene, it’s Friday afternoon and you have one final delivery to organise; a job that could mean the difference between you successfully achieving your delivery target (KPI) for that week, or not. But, you do not know if your driver has enough hours left to complete the job.
This is a typical problem, and one that can often compromise an operators’ commercial position because of compliance responsibilities – or vice versa and can catch operators out with hefty fines or worse.
Knowing this is an issue; Tachodisc has used its working knowledge of the tachograph and created brand new technology that can uniquely send real time information, i.e. a driver’s hours status, direct to a Traffic Manager via a live feed.
“This is a first for the industry, and one that will positively help operators with their tough day-to-day commercial vs. compliance decisions,” said Guy Reynolds, Tachodisc’s Technical Director.
Guy explains: “We’ve combined our in-depth knowledge of the tachograph with our technical software expertise to digitally clone the calculation of time in a tachograph. The live feed of data is taken from the back of the tachograph, as each activity change happens on a second by second basis. We then convert this to the dominant activity for each minute as the tachograph would according to the EU specification.”
The new ‘live feed’ is available via TachoMax™, which Tachodisc has developed in partnership with CMS SupaTrak to provide an integrated system for managing tachograph analysis, verified remote downloading, driver behaviour and vehicle tracking.
