Delta Dental premiums on health care exchange remain steady for 2016, contrary to national trend
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 07, 2015 -- Delta Dental of California and its affiliated companies announced today that their premiums for family dental plans available on multiple public health care exchanges remain roughly the same for plan year 2016 as they were for plan year 2015, in contrast to a recent report showing a rise in the cost of exchange plans.
Pediatric dental coverage is one of ten “essential health benefits” under the Affordable Care Act, while adult dental coverage is also available in most state exchanges. In most states, exchanges offer separate (stand-alone) pediatric dental policies that can be combined with qualified health plans, as well as optional adult dental coverage.
In a recent report from the Wall Street Journal, the Obama administration acknowledged what many health care experts predicted — that many consumers across the country will see premium increases for the 2016 plan year. Not so, however, for Delta Dental clients and prospective enrollees.
“When our affordable family dental plans were designed for 2016, we made a conscious effort to keep benefits and rates the same for 2016 as they were in 2015,” said Gary D. Radine, president and CEO of Delta Dental of California and its affiliates. “Cost is a major factor in deciding to purchase a health or dental plan, and we keep the consumers’ concerns top of mind.”
Delta Dental’s group of companies currently offers ACA-compliant health care marketplace dental PPO and HMO-type plans in 16 states including the District of Columbia. The company also offers consumers an online resource center as a hub of information about the Affordable Care Act and its requirements.
