Delta Dental Recommits to 16 Public Exchanges for Plan Year 2016
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 01, 2015 -- Delta Dental of California and its affiliates today announced their recommitment to participate in 16 state and federal public exchanges for plan year 2016.
Open enrollment began November 1 and continues through January 31, 2016.
In 2015, more than 150,000 people purchased either DeltaCare® USA, a prepaid/dental HMO-type program, or Delta Dental PPO(SM), which allows enrollees to get covered services from both in and out-of-network providers. Enrollees typically have the lowest out-of-pocket costs by visiting in-network providers.
“Our participation in the public exchanges is important because dental insurance options for individuals in the commercial marketplace are few and far between,” said Gary D. Radine, president and CEO of Delta Dental of California and its affiliated companies. “We kept our premiums as low as possible again this year without compromising valued benefits, which was good for consumers, so we’ll use the same strategy in 2016.”
Affiliated companies of Delta Dental of California include Delta Dental Insurance Company, Delta Dental of New York, Inc. and Delta Dental of Pennsylvania. Between them, stand-alone PPO dental plans now are available in the District of Columbia, Alabama, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas (as a DPO plan), Utah and West Virginia.
DeltaCare USA, a lower-cost, prepaid/DHMO dental plan, is available in California, Florida, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Utah, as well as D.C. *(Offerings are subject to change; purchasers should visit the appropriate exchange for their state for the most up-to-date information.)
The companies offer consumers, dentists and employer groups access to an online Health Care Reform Resource Center to help navigate the public exchanges for dental coverage and learn more about the plans being offered. A new feature called Check Your Enrollment helps consumers quickly verify Delta Dental’s receipt of their enrollment information from the state or federal public exchange.
