Delta Dental Releases 2014 Corporate Sustainability Report
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 24, 2015 -- Being environmentally responsible can save a ton — or even 55 tons. That’s how much paper Delta Dental of California and its affiliated companies saved in 2014, according to their recently released annual sustainability report.
The web-based report includes accomplishments in areas such as paper conservation, procurement and waste reduction since the 2008 inception of the company’s sustainability program.
In 2014, the group of companies once again saw growth in its paperless adoption rate — an initiative which it continues to pursue to reduce its carbon footprint and improve the customer experience. In addition to sourcing environmentally friendly paper, the companies also reduced paper usage by more than 12 million pages over the past few years, reducing the amount spent on paper by about 33% from 2012 to 2014, according to the report.
So far this year, nearly 2 million pages have been saved through paperless options for enrollees and providers, company officials said.
“Speeding up this transition to paperless is an important objective for us, and we’ve set aggressive goals not only to reduce paper usage within our company but also to help our clients, enrollees and providers adopt online solutions,” said Delta Dental President and CEO Gary D. Radine. “We also know that environmental responsibility is an ongoing process, and we will continue to work in partnership with our stakeholders as well as our own employees to drive our sustainability efforts.”
