Denver’s Grass Station Cannabis Dispensary Celebrates the Success of its Thanksgiving Holiday Sales Event
Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) December 02, 2014 -- In an event that attracted both large crowds of shoppers as well national and international media headlines, The Grass Station cannabis dispensary made history over the long Thanksgiving weekend with its pioneering holiday sales event.
The Denver-based recreational dispensary, one of the largest in Colorado, offered significant discounts on a wide variety of products starting on Thanksgiving Day. And then, as part of its “Black Friday is Green” campaign, the store’s blow-out sale prices brought in a wide spectrum of customers – some of whom camped out overnight to take advantage of the discounts.
“The $50 ounce is an amazing deal,” said Colorado resident Jennifer, 28 and originally from West Virginia. “I think I’d save more money on that than if I would go out and get a deal on a TV.”
Jennifer had been waiting in front of The Grass Station since 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving evening; just to be sure she could take advantage of the dispensary’s holiday event. By the time the doors opened at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, she was the first of around 120 happy and relaxed people, all waiting on a chilly November morning for their turn to shop.
“I feel like this is probably one of the most peaceful Black Friday camp-outs there is right now,” laughed Hannah, who was wrapped in a blanket. She had arrived at The Grass Station with some friends at around 3:00 a.m.
“It’s been awesome,” said Jo. The 40-year-old had been waiting for nearly three hours, and was spending her time in line knitting a scarf for her husband. “We were at 25 (people) back, and now it looks like there’s a whole lot of people.”
Ryan Fox, CEO and founder of the Grass Station, noted the success of the holiday event is just another sign of the legal marijuana industry’s arrival as a legitimate part of the retail sector.
“This is the first year adults in Colorado can legally buy recreational marijuana, and this event shows there’s a lot of pent-up demand,” he said. “Between Thanksgiving and Sunday evening we brought in about twice the number of sales we usually have during a four-day period.”
But just because the Thanksgiving holiday is over doesn't mean the deals have ended. As an additional part of the celebration, The Grass Station will honor coupons from its fellow Colorado dispensaries through the end of the year.
And while marijuana and products containing marijuana are not allowed outside of Colorado, The Grass Station has a wide variety of cannabis-themed gifts available for out-of-state shoppers; from inexpensive lanyards and insulated beer coolers to hand-blown glass pipes, as well as high-end apparel and hats.
Out-of-state shoppers can go to The Grass Station web site to select their non-marijuana gifts, and then order those items via email at: info(at)grassstation(dot)com.
“Colorado is leading the nation when it comes to marijuana,” said Fox. “And the holiday shopping season is another opportunity for the industry to gain customers, especially people looking for fun and unusual gifts.”
