Destination Halifax Wins National Meetings Industry Day Influence Award
Halifax, Nova Scotia (PRWEB) April 16, 2015 -- The award recognizes people or organizations outside the direct meetings industry, which have supported the development of meetings and conventions or policy and programs impacting the industry. Patricia Lyall, President and CEO of Destination Halifax, accepted the award at an NMID event at the World Trade and Convention Centre.
“It is gratifying to have our meeting and convention programming acknowledged for its impact and effectiveness,” said Patricia Lyall, President and CEO, Destination Halifax. ”MPI is the globally recognized brand for the meetings industry. To be selected for this honour by such an organization is humbling and inspires for even greater accomplishment.”
Destination Halifax was chosen as the award recipient because of their contagious team spirit and collaborative work with partners. The MPI Atlantic Canada Chapter views this “Team Halifax” approach as a significant contributor to winning convention business and respect in the industry.
“We couldn't imagine another organization more worthy of this award,” said Nadine Poirier, President, MPI Atlantic Chapter. “Destination Halifax is a true partner to meeting and convention business in Halifax.
