President Shawn Randazzo's Tangy BBQ Chicken Authentic Detroit Style Pizza recipe was named World's Best Pizza at the 2012 International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas, where Randazzo was also crowned World Champion Pizza Maker. Randazzo was only the second American to ever win the global pizza industry's most prestigious prize. Randazzo's Tangy BBQ Chicken and Margarita in the "D" pizza recipes are the most popular two specialty pizzas served at his three Metro Detroit locations, and now they're available through the company's unique mail order program.
Unlike some pizza mail order programs, Detroit Style Pizza Co. does not mass-produce and freeze their pizzas. Instead, each mail-ordered pizza is freshly prepared from premium ingredients right in Randazzo's pizzeria kitchens, then shipped overnight in revolutionary Techni-Ice packaging that keeps pizzas fresh, cool, and ready-to-bake. The pizzas are sold in three-packs and arrive with baking instructions and a packet of Randazzo's signature red sauce – to be ladled on top, after baking, per Authentic Detroit Style Pizza tradition.

Randazzo crafted his Tangy BBQ Chicken recipe during the Mystery Ingredient Bake-Off at the 2012 International Pizza Expo. Having taken first place in the American Pan division, he pitted off against other pizza makers in a timed competition that unveiled a mystery ingredient – Cattleman's Gold BBQ Sauce – during the process. The world's preeminent judges agreed that Randazzo's recipe was the best, and named him World Champion Pizza Maker. The pizza features a blend of brick and mozzarella cheese topped with tender white meat chicken, Applewood smoked bacon, red onions and fresh garlic, then finished in Cattleman's Gold BBQ Sauce and dusted with grated Parmesan and Romano cheese.
The Margarita in the "D" is topped with fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, roasted garlic and red onions, then finished with a dusting of sea salt. The unique flavor sensation has a kick that makes it one of Detroit Style Pizza Co.'s most popular pizzas.
