Developing Leadership in the Early Care Environment Covered in New Course from CCEI
Duluth, GA (PRWEB) April 29, 2015 -- ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), a distance learning professional development and certificate provider, is proud to introduce ADM109: Developing Leadership in Early Care and Education to the online child care training course catalog.
While there are certain universal qualities to any good leader, regardless of profession, leaders in the early care and education (ECE) industry face some unique challenges and responsibilities that are not covered in typical corporate leadership books and seminars. This course examines what it means to be a successful leader in the ECE field, which includes afterschool or out-of-school-time care. Some skills and knowledge come easily to some people, others take time and constant practice, but everyone in a leadership position in the ECE industry needs to put serious thought into the exact nature of their role and responsibilities, and what it will take in order to succeed. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to identify intellectual characteristics of a successful ECE leader, demonstrate an understanding of interpersonal skills relevant to successful leadership, and identify characteristics of the “Five Faces” of ECE leadership.
“Leadership is an important characteristic in any profession, but especially when dealing with children,” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “This course will help emerging leaders develop the skills and knowledge necessary to grow into leadership positions within the childcare industry.”
This three-hour training course is available for online enrollment now, and awards 0.3 IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon successful completion. Active, unlimited individual or center-based subscription holders may take this course at no additional cost at any time.
