DEXA Launches Website, Seeking Help For Haiti
Toledo, Ohio (PRWEB) March 24, 2014 -- Dr. Dave Bejot and Eric Messer founded Doctors & Engineers Expediting Advancements for Global Humanity (DEXA) in 2011 to help the people of Haiti with construction and medical needs. They are excited to announce they now have a web site to help them attract volunteers and benefactors to the work.
During every trip to this struggling part of the world, Bejot and Messer encounter serious needs.
“We partnered to build an eye clinic and are now working to fully supply it with medicine and equipment,” said Bejot. “We want it to be as clean and well-run as any clinic in the U.S.,” said Messer.
DEXA plans to build a health clinic to serve pregnant women, provide vaccinations, and treat people with AIDS. They also currently help the Claire Heureuse Hospital in the Artibonite Valley with their maintenance needs.
Bejot and Messer stress that, with the help of supporters, they are making a difference in the lives of many. They invite anyone with the desire to help to join in the work of their relatively young organization.
DEXA is a non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization that uses on-site teams from the United States to help the people of Dessalines, Haiti.

About DEXA’s Founders
Dr. Dave Bejot
President
Dave was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, and grew up in a small farm town. When he was in college at the University of Nebraska, Dave knew he wanted to help people through medicine, so he chose to pursue a career in optometry. He received his doctorate from the Ohio State College of Optometry and, upon completion of an ocular disease residency in 1994, joined The Eye Center of Toledo, which has since been renamed TLC. In the mid-2000s, Dave met Eric who, as an engineer, was organizing an eye mission team to provide medical care and prescribe glasses. After their first trip to Haiti, Dave came away feeling fortunate to live in the U.S. In 2011, after many trips to Haiti, Dave and Eric founded DEXA.
Eric Messer
Vice President
Eric served in the Army from 1981-1989 as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and a crew chief on Blackhawk helicopters. In 1985, he married Robin and several years later, they welcomed their daughter and son into the family. In 1989, he began an apprenticeship as a tool-and-die maker, completing the program in 1993. Eric has worked since 1999 as the mechanical department engineering manager at Sponseller Group, Inc. In the mid-2000s Eric led an eye team into Dessalines, Haiti. Dr. Dave Bejot expressed an interest in the trip and became the lead doctor. In 2011, after many trips to Haiti, Dave and Eric founded DEXA.
