Di Bruno Bros. Sponsors “Pick the Perfect Bite” Cheesemonger Competition & Fundraiser Benefiting St. James School Neighborhood Kitchen
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) April 07, 2014 -- In celebration of its 75th Anniversary, Di Bruno Bros. is hosting a series of fundraising events to support the building of a new Neighborhood Kitchen at St. James School in the Allegheny West section of Philadelphia. Di Bruno Bros. is spearheading the St. James School Neighborhood Kitchen fundraising effort, with the goal of raising $75,000 to support the construction of this much-needed kitchen facility.
The kickoff event, “Pick the Perfect Bite,” is a live “taste-off” in which teams of Di Bruno Bros. Cheesemongers and culinary experts prepare deliciously-unique dishes, then let the crowd (and their taste buds) be the judge. “Pick the Perfect Bite” will be held in Di Bruno Bros. Rittenhouse Upstairs Café (1730 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, Pa. 19107), on Wednesday, April 30 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Attendees will also enjoy a mouth-watering spread of Di Bruno Bros. cheeses and charcuterie, live action pasta station and gourmet flatbreads. Accompanying sips will be provided by co-sponsors Moore Brothers Wine Company and Weyerbacher Brewing Company.
The live “taste-off” part of the evening begins at 6:30 pm, when every team presents their dish to the audience -- then the sampling and scoring begins and the crowd-voted favorite wins. In addition to bragging rights, the winning team’s dish will be featured on the Di Bruno Bros. 9th Street “After Hours” menu.
Tickets to this culinary fete are just $35 (including buffet, “Perfect Bite” sampling, beer and wine) and are available for purchase through TicketLeap. All proceeds benefit St. James School Neighborhood Kitchen campaign. Di Bruno Bros. will host additional themed fundraising events throughout the year.
