Diablo Magazine Receives Three Prestigious Maggie Awards
Walnut Creek, CA (PRWEB) May 08, 2015 -- Diablo magazine was honored with three Maggie Awards for magazine excellence from the Western Publishing Association (WPA) at the ceremony in Los Angeles. The winning awards were for Best Overall Publication/Consumer, Best State/Regional Consumer Publication, and Best Special Theme Issue/Consumer Publication for the November Food Issue.
This was the third time Diablo took honors for the Best State/Regional Consumer Publication and the second time it took the top honor for Best Overall Publication/Consumer. As Ron Epstein, President of Epstein Custom Media and President of the WPA Board of Directors, stated, “This year’s Maggie Awards were extremely competitive, with entrants in several categories winning by just one point. We honored writers and editors, long-standing media properties, and many new and innovative ones. Our industry finds new ways each year to connect with its audience, and I’m proud to see the continued growth.”
Diablo took its third award, Best Special Theme Issue/Consumer Publication, for its November Food Issue, which featured Diablo’s annual “Food Awards,” highlighting the East Bay’s best restaurants. The issue also featured “Empire Builders,” about three hot chefs who define the East Bay food scene.
