Diamondback Drugs® Announces Winner of the 2016 Veterinary Cancer Society Scholarship Competition
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) October 18, 2016 -- Diamondback Drugs, LLC, based in Scottsdale, AZ proudly announces Amber Wolf-Ringwall, DVM, as the recipient of the 2016 Veterinary Cancer Society (VCS) Case Study Award. The award will be presented during the upcoming VCS conference on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 3:30PM during the Residents and Technicians Awards and Membership Meeting. The VCS Conference is slated to take place at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort located in the Walt Disney World® resort.
Dr. Wolf-Ringwall’s case study described her experience using Diamondback Drugs to compound medications for a 13-year old male dachshund named Jake who was suffering from transitional cell carcinoma of the prostate, urinary bladder and urethra at the Colorado State University Veterinary Oncology Service.
“Diamondback was able to conveniently compound and ship chloramphenicol to Jake’s home in rural North Dakota at minimal cost,” stated Dr. Wolf-Ringwall. “Additionally, we elected to have Diamondback compound a special dosage of nitrofurantoin, a necessary antibiotic in Jake’s treatment plan, for an affordable solution. Both they and my team were delighted with the dependability and convenience of Diamondback, as well as the detailed counseling Jake’s owners received from the pharmacist about how to handle and administer the drugs.”
“We love hearing success stories like Jake’s,” affirmed Michael Blaire, CEO and Founder of Diamondback Drugs, who will be presenting Dr. Wolf-Ringwall with the award at the conference. “Dr. Wolf-Ringwall used her knowledge of compounding to help Jake’s owners with medication options that saved them time and money while making it easier to give Jake the exact dosage of medications he needed.”
2016 marks the 4th consecutive year that Diamondback Drugs has sponsored the VCA Case Study Award. Previous scholarship winners include Jeanne Larson, DVM 2013; Zachary L. Neumann, DVM, 2014; and Shirley Chu, DVM, 2015.
Dr. Wolf-Ringwall intends to use her $1,000 scholarship to cover expenses to attend the VCS conference.
