Dickinson Wright PLLC Names Six New Members
DETROIT, Mich. (PRWEB) January 13, 2015 -- Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce the election of six new member attorneys to the firm, effective January 1, 2015.
Kerry Masters Ewald is a Member in Dickinson Wright’s Nashville office and concentrates her practice in representing business entities. She regularly counsels companies with respect to civil litigation, and has experience in all stages of litigation, ranging from initiation of suit through appeal. Her clients include electric cooperatives throughout the state of Tennessee, a variety of insurance companies, and numerous other business entities. Specific types of cases include electrical contact, fire loss, products liability, and personal injury and wrongful death. She also defends numerous governmental entities in various matters, including alleged civil rights violations under Section 1983, Governmental Tort Liability Act claims, zoning challenges, and employment issues. Ms. Ewald is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Nashville Bar Association. Ms. Ewald received her B.S. from Samford University and her J.D./MBA from the University of Tennessee College of Law and College of Business.
Brandon C. Hubbard is a Member in the firm’s Lansing office. He focuses his practice in the areas of commercial and business litigation, education, energy and sustainability, insurance, and healthcare. He represents clients in a number of litigation matters in both judicial and arbitration forums in a number of states, with many of the cases involving fraud, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, negligence, tortious interference with business relationships, and other tort and contractual causes of action. He also represents energy clients in a number of matters before the Michigan Public Service Commission, including all phases of litigation. Mr. Hubbard is a member of the Ingham County Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan, has served as a local campaign liaison for the Capital Area United Way, and serves on the firm’s Pro-Bono Committee. Mr. Hubbard received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law.
Nicolas M. Morano is a Member in Dickinson Wright’s Grand Rapids office where he focuses his practice in real estate law and corporate law. He acts as general real estate and corporate counsel to national, regional and emergent businesses and nonprofits in daily contracts and affairs, organization, transactions and governance. As part of that practice, he counsels businesses and individuals in real estate purchase, sale, leasing, construction and development transactions. He also prepares various governing documents for communities within large scale residential and commercial development and he assists clients with drafting and negotiating transactional documents for sale of multi-million dollar industrial and commercial facilities. Mr. Morano is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. He received his B.B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
Kimberly M. Slaven is a Member in the firm’s Troy office where she focuses her practice on intellectual property law, particularly in the area of patents. She has significant experience in the chemical arts, especially material science and metallurgy, as well as the mechanical and electrical arts, particularly inventions related to the automotive industry. On behalf of the firm’s clients, she handles patent application preparation and prosecution, including original filings, responses, appeals, oppositions, reexaminations, and reissue applications. She also conducts patentability and clearance searches; provides patentability, infringement, and clearance opinions; prepares patent licensing agreements and non-disclosure agreements; and provides intellectual property litigation support and patent portfolio management. Ms. Slaven is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Annual Meeting Committee, the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association, the Society of Women Engineers of Detroit, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Detroit. She received her B.S. from the University of Notre Dame and her J.D. from the Michigan State University College of Law.
Kelly M. Telfeyan is a Member in Dickinson Wright’s Nashville office. She focuses her practice in the areas of insurance, product liability & personal injury, creditor rights, lender litigation & bankruptcy, and labor & employment litigation. She is involved in the representation of large financial and banking institutions, mortgage servicers, and corporations in all aspects of litigation, including adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court. She has considerable experience in defending governmental entities in Section 1983 claims, Governmental Tort Liability Act claims, and claims alleging retaliatory discharge and discharge in violation of the ADA, the TDA, the FMLA, the TPPA, and the TPEPFA. Ms. Telfeyan is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Nashville Bar Association. She received her B.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
Doron Yitzchaki is a Member in Dickinson Wright's Ann Arbor office. He focuses his practice in the areas of automotive litigation, bankruptcy & creditors' rights, and general commercial litigation. Mr. Yitzchaki is a member of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel and recipient of its 2014 Golden Gavel Award recognizing up and coming lawyers. Mr. Yitzchaki is Co-Chair of the Trial Practice Section of the Washtenaw County Bar Association. He received his B.A. from the University of Judaism College of Arts & Sciences and his J.D. from University of Michigan Law School.
