Dig.Drop.Done™ Partners with Habitat for Humanity for “Plant Happiness” Initiative
Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) September 06, 2013 -- Flower-bulb education campaign Dig.Drop.Done is joining forces with Habitat for Humanity in the “Plant Happiness” initiative to improve lives through affordable home ownership. As part of a one-year, international partnership, Dig.Drop.Done will donate $100,000 to support Habitat’s home building programs in the United States and Canada.
“Habitat has been mindful about not only the care of the home, but also the care of the exterior—the landscaping as well,” says Lysa Ratliff, senior director of Corporate Programs for Habitat for Humanity International. “In addition to funding, this partnership offers wonderful opportunities for new Habitat homeowners to enhance their home exteriors and beautify communities. We are grateful for Dig.Drop.Done’s support.”
The partnership began July 1, 2013, and runs through June 30, 2014. In addition to the financial donation, Dig.Drop.Done members and retailers may help “Plant Happiness” by donating flower bulbs to their local Habitat affiliates and joining planting events. The first planting event was held in Winston-Salem, N.C., last fall, where volunteers gathered to plant tulips, daffodils and crocus on the lawn of a new Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County home owner.
