Dig-It! Games Announces Finalists and Opens Voting for Mayan Mysteries Character Drawing Contest
Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- Dig-It! Games, an independent developer of educational interactive games founded by a former archaeologist and middle school teacher, today announced the finalists of the Mayan Mysteries Character Drawing Contest. The three finalists, selected by a judging panel of artists and designers who created Mayan Mysteries, represent the best original characters with the most thoughtful reasons to join the game’s archaeological team.
All finalists’ entries (sketches and accompanying descriptions) are now posted on Dig-It! Games Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/digitgames, where a vote is cast when a Facebook fan or friend (ages 13+) “Likes” a sketch. Public voting will be open through January 8, 2014, and the finalist with the most “Likes” will be officially announced on January 9.
“We were very impressed by the quality and creativity of the entries,” said Suzi Wilczynski, president and founder of Dig-It! Games. “It was a big challenge for our judging panel to narrow down the submissions to just three finalists, but now it is the public’s turn to help us determine who will create the newest character in the world of Mayan Mysteries.”
The finalists of the Mayan Mysteries Character Drawing Contest are:
• Yahaira and her character, Angela
• Michaela and her character, Anna
• Amber and her character, Alexandra
In addition to having his/her character sketch featured as an animated character in the latest edition of Mayan Mysteries, the grand prize winner will receive a 16GB iPad 2 with Wi-Fi, will be added to the game’s credits, and will be featured as the Timeline graphic for the Dig-It! Games Facebook page for one week. All three finalists will receive a free Single-User online license of the new Mayan Mysteries edition and the two other finalists will also receive a 16GB iPod Touch.
Mayan Mysteries, first introduced in October 2012, is a one-of-a-kind puzzle-based game that takes kids on an exciting journey through history to learn about the ancient Maya civilization. Players are turned into archaeologists as they embark upon an expedition with “Team Q” and gather clues hidden across ancient sites in order to catch the secretive thief, Ladrone. The new character will join the adventure as an archaeological assistant, excited to learn about the Maya culture and willing to get their hands dirty.
