Digital Artist Re-imagines Black Superheroes in Movie Posters for Diversity
Detroit, Mi (PRWEB) February 19, 2015 -- Alijah Villian, a digital artist, is best known for his viral projects Black Superheroes Pt. l & NBA Knights Games of Thrones. Alijah has created a second version of “Black Superheroes Reimagined,” a collection of popular superheroes in movie posters re-imagined with black celebrity actors and actresses.
“This project was created to show and promote positivity in having more diversity in film and superhero movies, the idea is that anyone can be a superhero.” -Alijah Villian
The online exhibit is open to the public at http://alijahvillian.com. The collection includes 20 + movie posters featuring celebrities such as: Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, and Angela Bassett as popular superheroes.
The Black Superheroes Re-imagined project has been shared by celebrities such as Rosario Dawson, Sanaa Lathan, and Laz Alonso.
Contributors of the project are Valerie Greene, Willis Hamilton and Teena Cathey.
About Alijah Villian
Alijah Villian is an Award Winning Digital Artist & Graphic Designer he has worked in the art industry for 10 years. Currently he works at Hadrout Design Agency in Ferndale, MI. He is known for his viral projects such as Black Superheroes Reimagined, NBA Knights Game of Thrones, and Van Hollins Circus.
He is one of the two Grand Prize Winners of Best Film Commercial at SXSW. The commercial in which he designed the digital environment named “Graham Bell” directed by JR Strickland for Fidelity Investments was awarded by Jon Landau (Producer of Titanic and Avatar) for MOFILM.
