DigitalChalk CEO to Lead Discussion at DevLearn Conference
ASHEVILLE, NC (PRWEB) October 20, 2017 -- DigitalChalk’s CEO, Russ Stinehour, will speak on the User Experience (UX) and 508 compliance at the DevLearn conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 25th. DevLearn is a major eLearning conference, drawing industry leaders and innovators together to discuss and present on the latest technological developments and approaches to eLearning. The conference dedicates itself to presenting ways that educators can implement the latest emerging technologies into a learning environment by bringing in experts from the field to discuss new technological trends and how to best utilize them for learning.
As one of those leaders and innovators, Stinehour will be presenting twice at DevLearn 2017. Himself legally blind, Stinehour will present at a DevLearn session he calls Beyond 508: Inclusive Learning for All of Us, which deals specifically with how to create a User Experience (UX) that goes beyond basic compliance with US Section 508 standards. He offers UX design considerations that take into account users with low vision, dyslexia, and other disabilities not explicitly covered by Section 508. Specifically, Stinehour plans to talk about how to include accommodating UX in web design and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Additionally, Stinehour will lead a second discussion on accessibility at one of DevLearn’s MorningBuzz group sessions.
In terms of how he believes his presentation will contribute to the implementation of more accessible UX, Stinehour says, “I hope to use this opportunity at DevLearn to provide an additional perspective on accessibility. The number of low vision users is increasing with an aging population and includes many people around all of us. Some of the challenges facing the low vision community are not well understood and designers need to think of solutions such as white space, clutter, contrast, and magnification differently.”
