DigitalChalk CTO Inducted into Computer Science Hall of Fame
ASHEVILLE, NC (PRWEB) October 19, 2017 -- DigitalChalk is excited to announce that our Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Troy Tolle, has been selected for recognition as an inaugural member of the new North Carolina State University Department of Computer Science Alumni Hall of Fame. Out of nearly 9,000 Computer Science alumni at NC State, Tolle is one of only 25 inaugural inductees into the Hall of Fame. This prestigious honor serves to highlight alumni who have made outstanding contributions in their professional field, their community, and the global community.
Tolle graduated from NC State with a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering in 1998, and with his M.S. in Computer Science in 2000. He was also the recipient of the esteemed Caldwell Scholarship, which is a merit-based award given to students who meet a high standard of academic excellence and leadership. During his time at NC State, Tolle also took on both Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant positions, which provided him with the opportunity to teach students and work alongside some of the best faculty at the university. Outside of the classroom, he led computer science focused clubs and groups on campus.
After graduating from NC State, Tolle became a consultant for CrossLogic Corporation, where he built software systems for companies like Sprint, Wachovia, Yellow Transportation, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and even the United States Department of Defense.
In January of 2007, Tolle co-founded DigitalChalk with CEO Russ Stinehour. Since then, he has become a leading pioneer and innovator in software development and eLearning technology. His LMS platform for DigitalChalk envisions the use of emerging technologies to bolster all types of learning for all types of learners. Tolle’s work with DigitalChalk continues to ensure the cutting edge progress of LMS and cloud-based eLearning systems.
Additionally, organizations in North and South Carolina have partnered with Tolle to build startup communities and mentoring networks for developers and innovators that need help with software implementation. Tolle has also been able to work with other local and national companies at a board level and with elected government officials to advise them on technical decisions and provide input on technology, startups, jobs, and innovation.
Each inductee into the Hall of Fame is featured on a recognition wall outside the computer science office, and with an achievement summary on the department’s website.
