Dignity Health and Adeptus Health to Open First Freestanding Emergency Room in Chandler, Arizona
Phoenix, AZ and Lewisville, TX (PRWEB) April 21, 2015 -- The joint venture between Dignity Health and Adeptus Health (NYSE:ADPT) announced today it is opening its first freestanding emergency room later this Spring. The facility will be located in Chandler, Arizona and will be licensed under Dignity Health Arizona General Hospital, which is also part of the Dignity Health and Adeptus Health joint venture.
Tim Bricker, President and CEO of Dignity Health Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers said the new facility will complement the existing hospitals’ emergency departments. “We are focused on providing the best access to care of any health care system in Arizona and this new facility will help achieve that goal.”
Dignity Health Arizona General Hospital opened earlier this year in the West Valley as a joint venture between Dignity Health and Adeptus Health. Based in Texas, Adeptus Health is a leader in establishing freestanding emergency rooms. The Chandler facility is formally licensed through Dignity Health Arizona General Hospital and thus will carry its name.

The Dignity Health Arizona General Hospital Emergency Room will be a full-service emergency room, licensed by the state, and open 24-7. The new facility will be staffed by board-certified physicians, emergency trained registered nurses and radiology technologists and equipped with a full radiology suite and an accredited laboratory. Additionally the new emergency room will have full access to Dignity Health’s network of physicians and specialists.
