Director of Early Childhood Education at Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore Wins the Abilities Network Program Partner Award
Baltimore, Maryland (PRWEB) April 28, 2014 -- Ilene Meister, director of the Early Childhood Education at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore in Owings Mills will accept the Abilities Network Program Partner Award on May 15, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, Maryland. Each year, Abilities Network presents awards to individuals, businesses and organizations that have created significant partnerships with the agency.
Ilene Meister and colleagues at the JCC began collaborating with Abilities Network’s Project ACT, (All Children Together), two years ago in order to identify and work proactively with children with developmental, social, emotional, behavioral, or physical concerns. The ACT program assists parents and teachers to develop and see through a plan of action specific to their child’s needs. This collaboration ensures that each child has an advocate and is successful in the Early Childhood Education center at the JCC.
Sharon Huffman, Director of Project ACT states, “this year we are nominating Ilene for the Program Partner Award because she and her staff have been so wonderful to work with and the initiatives they have taken to use the resources Project ACT has provided and to support so many young children shows what can be done when a director is committed to inclusive practices.”

The Jewish Community Center and Abilities Network plan to continue this successful relationship with the goal of helping all young children acquire the skills necessary to enter school ready to succeed. This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Abilities Network.
