Disabled American Veterans Opens New Community Donation Center in O'Fallon, Missouri
O'Fallon, Missouri (PRWEB) January 30, 2016 -- The adorable dresses, jeans and shoes the kids outgrew are worth more than memories. So is the family sofa once relegated to a daughter's dorm room. The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Community Donation Center, which opened this week in O'Fallon, Missouri, relies on generous in-kind donations like these to supply the DAV's Red Racks Thrift Stores to benefit disabled military men and women.
The newest Community Donation Center opened this week at 411 S. Main in O'Fallon, Missouri. Gently used clothing, household goods, furniture, electronics, shoes, tools and home decor are accepted from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week. Donors enjoy the convenience of drive-thru lanes, with donated items unloaded by attendants. A tax receipt is provided, along with sincere gratitude for supporting America's most enduring veterans' advocacy and assistance organization.
The men and women returning home from service often face daunting challenges in daily living. Veterans must find jobs in a difficult economy; re-learn how to relate to families after having been away for long periods of time; find housing; and learn to overcome unique obstacles.
Far too many veterans struggle to regain a sense of normalcy and must start the long and often difficult process of healing and rehabilitation to rebuild lives. With proceeds from its Red Racks Thrift Stores in Missouri, the DAV provides vital care and services to men and women injured during their military service. Services include assistance in accessing a full range of earned benefits,in addition to transportation for medical care, and emergency assistance such as food and shelter. DAV provides programs that support the overall health and well-being of veterans. All DAV services are free.
This is the second DAV Community Donation Center to open in O'Fallon, Missouri. The other site is located at 3702 Monticello Plaza.
