Disabled Veterans National Foundation Announces 13 New Grant Recipients
WASHINGTON, DC (PRWEB) June 15, 2015 -- The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (http://www.dvnf.org), a nonprofit veterans service organization that provides critically needed support to disabled and at-risk veterans who leave the military wounded—physically or psychologically—after defending our safety and our freedom, announces 13 new grants to veterans organizations throughout the country.
As a national nonprofit foundation, one of DVNF's primary goals is to help like-minded organizations to secure adequate financial support for their unique programs that strengthen and assist veterans in need. DVNF strives to equip those nonprofits with the service delivery tools needed to help veterans as they transition from active duty to civilian life.
In total for this session of grant approvals, nearly a quarter-million dollars in funding went to support these programs. Some examples of the types of support these programs provide to veterans include transitional housing, alternative therapy, service dogs, and recreational therapy.
Below is a list of the organizations selected for grants in this session:
• Continuing Development Services Monarch – Webster, New York
• New England Center for Homeless Veterans – Boston, Massachusetts
• Kentucky Center for Arts in Healing – Louisville, Kentucky
• America’s VetDogs (Veterans K-9 Corps) – Smithtown, New York
• National Alliance on Mental Illness CT – Hartford, Connecticut
• Warrior At Ease (WAE) – Silver Spring, Maryland
• Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Association for Brain Injury – Louisville, Colorado
• Saving Grace K9’s – Lexington, North Carolina
• Honoring Our Veterans – Moran, Wyoming
• Outward Bound USA – Brooklyn, New York
• Salute Military Golf Association – Silver Spring, Maryland
• Fairways for Warriors – Orlando, Florida
• Veterans Community Network – Harleysville, Pennsylvania
