Disabled Veterans National Foundation Hosts Luncheon in DC to Honor Grant Recipients
WASHINGTON, DC (PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (http://www.dvnf.org), a nonprofit veterans service organization that provides critically needed support to disabled and at-risk veterans who leave the military wounded—physically or psychologically—after defending our safety and our freedom, will host a luncheon in honor of 13 recent grant recipients.
The event will be hosted on Thursday, June 25, beginning at 11:00AM at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC. It is intended to recognize the work of the 13 organizations that received funding from DVNF, which was given to help advance their programs that serve various needs of veterans.
DVNF gave nearly a quarter-million dollars in funding to support these programs in their work. In addition to acknowledging these grant recipients for their service to veterans, DVNF is also inviting these new program partners to the event as an opportunity to network and share ideas on how to best serve the needs of veterans.
“This is a mere token of our appreciation to these close friends of ours, who are doing so much to help our veterans,” said DVNF CEO, Joseph VanFonda (USMC SgtMaj Ret.). “The unique programs they are offering are not only important, but in some cases, lifesaving. We want to make sure that they receive proper acknowledgment for the significance of their work.”
The luncheon will last until 3:00PM. VanFonda will give a keynote speech to address and recognize each organization.
