Disabled Veterans National Foundation Provides $20,000 to Combat Marine Outdoors

Washington, DC (PRWEB) January 23, 2016 -- The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) (http://www.dvnf.org), is announcing that it will provide a $20,000 grant to Combat Marine Outdoors (CMO).

Combat Marine Outdoors is a Texas-based nonprofit organization that provides hunting, fishing, and outdoor adventures for severely wounded Marines, Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors and Navy Corpsmen. These excursions play a vital role in the rehabilitation of these American heroes.

DVNF’s grant to CMO is intended to go in support of travel and other expenses that will allow more veterans to participate in these activities. As part of DVNF’s mission to support veterans with both mental and physical disabilities, this grant will be effective in addressing both.

“As someone who has been wounded in combat, and as someone who has worked extensively to help other wounded service members through their recovery, programs like CMO do miraculous things to aid that recovery,” said DVNF’s CEO, Joseph VanFonda (USMC SgtMaj Ret.).

“My hope is that this grant will give even more veterans the chance to experience the camaraderie these trips offer, as well as the healing power of teamwork and the Great Outdoors.”

This grant will be DVNF’s first of 2016. The next grant award announcement will be made at the end of April for the spring grant session.
