DiSalvo's Station and Auberle Team Up to Help At-Risk Kids and Families
Latrobe, PA (PRWEB) April 28, 2015 -- DiSalvo's Station Restaurant in Latrobe will host Taste the Good Life on May 7, 2015, at 7pm, benefiting Auberle. This bi-annual event recognizes the region's most impactful nonprofit organizations by providing a tremendous opportunity to raise funds, friends and awareness.
Restaurant owner and event host, Joey DiSalvo, says of the event, "Taste the Good Life offers the best food, the best wine, the best cigars and most of all camaraderie like no other all to benefit a special cause - Auberle."
Proceeds from sponsorships, an exclusive night-of Aficionado Auction and opportunities to make donations will benefit Auberle. “Auberle is thrilled to be the beneficiary of the Taste the Good Life event on May 7. We have succeeded for decades with struggling children and families in Westmoreland County and across the Southwestern Pennsylvania, even being named Agency of the Year in the nation for our work. Without donors like the guests at Taste the Good Life who give generously to advance our mission, our success would not be possible”, said Auberle CEO, John Lydon.
Since 1952, Auberle has been where life changes for kids and families. Our mission is to help troubled children and families heal themselves. Auberle is a nationally recognized social service agency serving counties in the Southwestern PA region. The agency serves over 3,250 at-risk children and families each year through a multitude of programs that are centered in trauma-informed care. We recognize that child abuse, neglect and other traumatic events can lead to a multitude of health and social challenges. To counter act the effects of trauma on the individuals we serve, Auberle embraces the Sanctuary Model of Trauma Informed Care. Auberle also recognizes the importance of the entire family unit and works to help families resolve issues so that they are able to stay safe and together. Our program array includes residential care, foster care, emergency shelter, in-home intervention, preventative and community-based services, with 60% of our clients served in their home, school or in their community.
