Discover Lehigh Valley’s ‘Lehigh Valley Lunacy’ Online Tournament Combines Fun and Competition
Lehigh Valley, PA (PRWEB) February 27, 2015 -- Who needs a college basketball tournament for a good time in March?
Discover Lehigh Valley, the area’s designated destination marketing organization, is bringing fun and competition through their online tournament and promotion, “Lehigh Valley Lunacy.”
Now in its third year, “Lehigh Valley Lunacy” is a good-natured competition aimed at bringing awareness to local businesses through a bracket-styled tournament similar to the popular NCAA College Basketball format.
Discover Lehigh Valley has selected 64 local businesses and organizations, compiled them into four brackets, and will allow web users to select the eventual winner through daily online voting on http://www.LehighValleyInSite.com.
Instead of having North, South, East, and West brackets, “Lehigh Valley Lunacy” has brackets named Play, Stay, Events, and Eat, with corresponding Lehigh Valley businesses placed in each.
For example, the Play bracket has places where Lehigh Valley visitors and residents love to have fun such as the Lehigh Valley Zoo and Revolutions. The Stay bracket pits the best in local lodging against each other including Historic Hotel Bethlehem and the new Renaissance® Allentown Hotel. The Events bracket includes great local events including Musikfest and The Great Allentown Fair. The Eat bracket includes, what else, delicious local restaurants including Bethlehem Brew Works, Billy’s Downtown Diner Allentown, and many more!
Beginning March 3, users will be encouraged to visit http://www.LehighValleyInSite.com where they can vote for their favorite entrants each day.
The First Round runs March 3 - 9; Second Round runs March 10 - 15; Round of Sixteen runs March 16 - 18: Round of Eight runs March 19 - 22: The Final Four runs March 23 - 25 and the Championship Round runs March 26 - 29. The winner will be announced on March 30.
“Lehigh Valley Lunacy is a great way to spread awareness for the sheer numbers of attractions Lehigh Valley has,” Discover Lehigh Valley President, Michael Stershic, said. “There are so many great places here to stay, visit, eat at, and spend time with your family. We feel this is a fun way to shed light on them and show others all the great things they can do not only as spring arrives, but throughout the whole year.”
Previous winners of “Lehigh Valley Lunacy” include the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in 2013 and the surprise Lehigh Valley Zoo in 2014.
Who will be this year’s winner with bragging rights for another whole year? Only time will tell as “Lehigh Valley Lunacy” opens its first round on March 3.
