Front Royal, VA (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- This April Blue Ridge Bride and Go Blue Ridge Travel will collaborate in creating the first annual wedding and travel show for the Shenandoah Valley covering a 160 + mile radius of Interstate 81. The show will be both a wedding and travel planning experience reaching out to two audiences:
1 - Brides and Grooms looking for a destination or a short honeymoon
2 - Singles, Seniors and Families looking for 48 hours road trips to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley.
Destination - BLUE RIDGE will take place at the Holiday Inn & Suites Front Royal Blue Ridge Shadows and the Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Course on April 27th from 12 - 4:30 pm. There will be four event areas:
- Find Your Next Vacation
Guests will interact and comparison shop with destination travel experts representing the counties and towns in the Shenandoah offering vacation options all under one roof! Romantic getaways, adventure travel packages, or a road trip thru the hallowed grounds of the Civil War.
- See Strolling Wedding Gown Fashion Show at the Wedding Gallery
Wedding venues and professionals will be showcased with a ‘strolling bridal fashion show’.
- Taste of Travel Stage
Wake up your senses at the Taste of Travel Stage where local chefs, wineries, breweries, and distilleries from the valley will be showcased. Visitors can also have an outside picnic experience at the Golf Club where Virginia’s great barbecue cooking will be available.
- Hands-On Kids Adventure Activities.
Families can have fun at the outdoor Kids Park! Partners of the Shenandoah Valley Kids Trail will sponsor both children and pre-teen activities including Laser Tag, Snag Golf, and Mountain Biking. There will also be vendors showcasing the children’s summer camps here in the valley.

“The mission of the show is to showcase the NEW Shenandoah Valley with an emphasis on the best the valley has to offer including the culinary expertise of the great chefs working here in the valley,” said Craun. “We also want to let brides and grooms see the diversity the valley offers in wedding venues and resort destinations.”
Destination - BLUE RIDGE will also be the official launch of the Shenandoah Valley Kids Trail. Funded by Virginia Tourism's Marketing Leverage program, a new mobile travel website geared toward putting kids in the driver’s seat for family vacations has finally hit the road after months of planning. Twelve student videos including the first place winner of the 2014 Shenandoah Valley Kids Bucket List Video Contest will be showcased at the show.
Prizes will range from a ‘Hole in One $10,000 Challenge’ sponsored by Alpha Voyages and Sandals Resorts to a full week’s vacation for four here in the Shenandoah Valley. There will also be travel packages including a ‘Blast with Friends’, a ’Shenandoah Romance for Two’ and the a ‘Barrel of Fun Weekend Package’ for a family of four.
The town of Front Royal is just off of Interstate 66, and less then 20 minutes from Interstate 81.
