DISH Rolls Out Fleet of Clean-Burning Propane Autogas Vans to Serve Los Angeles
Hawthorne, CA (PRWEB) March 21, 2014 -- DISH announced that it deployed 47 customer service vans fueled by propane autogas in the Los Angeles area today. The fleet will emit 3.2 million fewer pounds of carbon dioxide emissions over its lifetime.

Four factors made propane autogas the alternative fuel of choice for DISH: cost savings, national availability of a domestically sourced fuel, on-site fueling benefits and original equipment manufacturer choices that meet service requirements.
DISH unveiled 47 of its 200 propane autogas vehicle fleet during an event entitled “Driving Cleaner Solutions for Our Customers and Communities.” The clean-burning ROUSH CleanTech Ford E-250 cargo vans will support residential and commercial customer service through the company’s Hawthorne and South El Monte locations.
With infrastructure costs for private propane autogas stations being less than any other fuel options, DISH chose to install an on-site fueling station. Today’s event included a refueling demonstration at the company’s Hawthorne location.

Propane autogas is a low carbon fuel that reduces greenhouse gases, carbon monoxide, and emits fewer smog-producing hydrocarbons when compared to conventional fuels. The vehicles meet stringent Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board certification requirements.
