Diverse Panel of Experts to Discuss Evolution of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) at PMRG'S 2015 Healthcare Marketing Researchers CONNECT Conference
Parsippany, NJ (PRWEB) February 06, 2015 -- The healthcare industry’s shift to electronic medical records (EMRs) has proved painful for many healthcare providers, despite the promise of technology that would streamline record keeping and even care itself. Now stakeholders representing pharma, patients, healthcare, managed care and EMR providers are coming together to discuss the impact of the new technology in a panel to be led by an HRA – Healthcare Research & Analytics vice president whose deep understanding of the players will enable her to bring their insights and ideas to light.
“This diverse panel of thought leaders will talk about the state of electronic medical records and how we can work together to move past pain points so we can use this technology to its full potential,” said Chris Rife, vice president of research at HRA, a consultative market research practice which supports decision making and strategy development across healthcare channels.
Rife, who has extensive experience leading and managing U.S. and international market research teams on both the vendor and client sides, will lead the discussion on the evolution of EMRs that will take place on Tuesday, March 17, at 11 a.m. at the 2015 Healthcare Marketing Researchers CONNECT conference, the annual meeting of the professional association Pharmaceutical Marketing Research Group (PMRG) being held in National Harbor, Md.
Distinguished panelists will include Julie Martell, usability researcher at Cerner; Sean McElligott, global disease market access lead at Janssen; Mark Wiley, senior manager, consumer insights & analysis at Aetna; Dr. Robert Herscowitz from Pulmonary Associates; and breast cancer survivor Lisa Rowe, director of market research at HRA.
The session will explore the roles and uses of EMRs in different spheres of the healthcare system as well as the ability of the technology to move beyond simply replacing paper medical records to supporting clinical decision making, improved patient experiences, better outcomes and reduced overall cost.
PMRG’s 2015 Healthcare Marketing Researchers CONNECT conference focuses on leveraging new strategic insights in order to optimize the impact of business decision making. PMRG is the foremost global community for healthcare marketing research professionals, focusing on continuing education, networking and monitoring of key policy issues relevant to the profession.
