DNS Made Easy Renews Green Initiative for Earth Day 2016
Reston, VA (PRWEB) April 21, 2016 -- DNS Made Easy continues their annual tradition on Earth Day 2016, to evaluate their energy consumption and commit to green-friendly practices. Its network engineers recently upgraded a few of their facilities, cleaning out old servers, and replacing them with energy efficient ones. “We have upgraded our boxes on over 500 of our name servers to boost CPU performance. These new boxes will also lower our power usage per CPU,” explains President of DNS Made Easy Steven Job.
The nature of the network performance industry is notorious for consuming copious amounts of energy. The DNS Made Easy network requires many global points of presence, each of which consume massive amounts electricity. The problem will only become worse as clients demand more locations and capacity from their networks. DNS Made Easy engineers are attempting to thwart this in their recommitment to regularly revamping their network for ways to decrease their impact on the environment.
“We believe network performance and energy efficiency run hand in hand, because when we consume less power, that’s less resources we have to spend on our network. That means we can pass the savings on to our clients, and continue to provide affordable services,” says Job.
Network performance is only one part of the equation; Job also emphasizes a strong commitment to operating an eco-friendly office. All the lights at the corporate headquarters are motion-detecting lights, which have proven to cut energy consumption dramatically. DNS Made Easy also offers flex commuting, which is extremely significant for the DC metro area. Employees are able to adjust their work hours to avoid peak traffic times. Flex commuting also contributes to better moods, and more time to focus on what’s important.
