Doctor Diagnosed with Herpes Launches Book and Herpes Education Campaign
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) July 11, 2016 -- Sheila Loanzon, an obstetrician-gynecologist who was diagnosed with herpes at the age of 20, announces the release of her book, "Yes, I Have Herpes: A Gynecologist's Perspective In and Out of the Stirrups", on July 14, 2016. In conjunction with the book, she has declared July 14 as Herpes Education Day and will be sharing herpes facts and support throughout the day on social media, using the hashtag #GotHerpes?. According to Loanzon, one in six people have herpes, yet eighty (80) percent of those who have it don’t know it.
“As an OB-GYN, I take a compassionate and loving approach with my patients, teaching them how to thrive and manage their herpes diagnosis. My book contains herpes facts and information, in addition to providing readers with support in telling a new partner and medical and holistic ways to manage herpes,” states Loanzon.
As an OB-GYN who has been diagnosed with herpes, Loanzon has a unique perspective. In her book, she openly discusses the shame and humiliation she once felt and provides readers with powerful tools to overcome it, accept their herpes diagnosis, reduce outbreaks, and avoid transmission to partners.
Those who purchase her book on Amazon.com on July 14, 2106, will receive an audio download of Dr. Loanzon’s special Guided Meditation, which helps support the mindset of people with herpes. This download is valued at $47, but is free to those who purchase the book on that day. Instructions for receiving and downloading the meditation are available at DrSheilaGYN.com.
