Domaine Serene Donation Contributions Help Local Children
Naples, Fla. (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- Since 2002, Domaine Serene’s auction lots contributions have raised over $1.5 million for the Naples Winter Wine Festival. Every dollar raised is distributed by the festival’s founding organization, Naples Children & Education Foundation, to benefit underprivileged and at risk children in Collier County.
Domaine Serene owner, Grace Evenstad, shared, “Working with and raising money for children’s charities has always been near and dear to Ken’s and my hearts. We have worked with wonderful groups throughout the United States and abroad and are proud that we can participate through great organizations that make such a positive impact in children’s lives, like the Naples Children & Education Foundation. Ken and I are trustees of the festival and have been involved since 2002, when we became winter residents of Naples.”
The three-day festival, this year themed “Celebrate the Journey,” has been cited by Wine Spectator as the nation’s most successful charity wine auction for nine years. The Naples Winter Wine Festival is an amazing event that has raised over $125 Million for disadvantaged youth in Collier County, Florida since its inception in 2001, impacting over thirty-five non-profit agencies and the lives of over 150,000 children.
Grace Evenstad continued, “The generosity of the Naples community is unprecedented for a town our size. Domaine Serene has been a festival vintner since 2002, and the Honored Vintner of the festival in 2011. The Domaine Serene auction lots that we have donated have raised $1,576,000 for the kids. At the festival January 25, 2014, a generous bidder paid $130,000 for a VIP trip to visit Domaine Serene. We will make sure they have a very good time!”
Over the years, Domaine Serene auction lots have featured rare large format and vertical offerings from the Evenstad’s library as well a stay at the private guesthouse on the grounds of the prestigious winery. A variety of events during the visit have also been included in the auction lot packages. Winners have experienced helicopter rides over Domaine Serene vineyards, a private tour of the unique 5 level gravity flow winery followed by a tasting of limited library selections, and exclusive dinners at the home of Ken and Grace Evenstad prepared by award winning celebrity chefs, such as Emeril Lagasse, and have featured special celebrity guests like William Shatner.
