Domino Concierge Service for Solar and Energy Efficiency Launches in New York State
Oakland, CA (PRWEB) July 09, 2015 -- Cleantech startup Domino announced today that it's bringing its Energy Concierge service for low-carbon living to New York. All New Yorkers can benefit from Domino’s tailored plans for serious carbon reduction, maximum cash savings, and zero lifestyle compromises.
Currently, only 10% of New Yorkers are using renewable energy in their private lives, according to a recent poll conducted by Clarity Campaign Labs. Another 60% would like to. But most don’t know where to start – or if they can afford it.
That’s where Domino comes in. The company recently launched its first-ever personal energy concierge service in California. Unbiased concierges advise consumers on what works for their home, family, and lifestyle -- from smart thermostats to solar panels, and everything in between.
To further help consumers save with clean energy, Domino is working on an innovative, one-of-a-kind financing bundle for energy efficiency upgrades.
The financing bundle will be an important step in making clean energy accessible and affordable to 100% of the people. Domino is partnering with the 100% Campaign to expand access to clean energy and efficiency in New York and across America. The campaign launched in June in New York City and will be rolled out in other states in the coming months. The 100% campaign is managed by The Solutions Project, a non-profit organization co-founded by the New York-based actor Mark Ruffalo.
What’s different about Domino?
- Consumers need personalized help, especially for big-ticket items like solar and electric vehicles. Domino’s Energy Concierge service provides that missing link.
- Domino works independently as a neutral third party, and doesn’t represent any company, product, or service.
- Concierges aren’t salespeople and don’t work on commission, so they won’t push actions on customers.
Domino CEO Stephen Torres notes, “For consumers, it's this simple: One: Reserve a time for a chat with a concierge. Two: Relax and let us do the work. Three: Start saving.”
“With Domino, I didn’t have to think too hard about all my options. They pointed me to the information I needed and made it easy to take action. With very little effort on my part, I’ll be saving hundreds a month and using clean energy,” says Domino customer David Hough in San Jose, CA.
Domino’s revenue comes from referral fees paid by vendors. Those fees cost the vendors less than acquiring customers in traditional ways, so consumers save.
“Modern consumers want to vote with their pocketbooks,” says founder and Chairman Tom Dinwoodie. “Domino helps them learn about their options and take action, pocketing the savings along the way.”
Domino’s goal is to help 1 billion people power their lives with clean energy. Dinwoodie is one of the most successful green entrepreneurs in the U.S. He built his Berkeley-based PowerLight Corporation from a one-man shop into an INC 500 Hall of Fame company, prior to merging with solar giant SunPower.
