Door Safety Announces New Fire Door Training and Certification Programs to Meet Life Safety Codes
CULPEPER, Va. Door Safety will offer three different life safety industry certifications: Door Safety Inspector (DSI), Door Safety Technician (DST) and Door Safety Consultant (DSC); with DSI certification being the first offering to the marketplace. Door Safety’s training process includes face-to-face, 3-4 day training sessions at hosted sites featuring Keith Pardoe as the primary instructor, and leveraging guest instructors to cover specific topics. The training sessions will provide the opportunity for attendees to network with other service providers who can supplement facility, building owner, and inspector efforts, and will include initial licenses for tablet hardware and software for use in the field.
Keith is currently the Chair of the NFPA 80 Technical Committee, and is former Director of Education with Door Hardware Institute (DHI). Keith has had significant input and influence on door-related fire codes for decades, and is widely known as an expert in the field of fire door compliance. In 2017, Keith joined George Mills, formerly of the Joint Commission, in an instructional video for Joint Commission surveyors on fire door inspections.
