Dot Green Community Inc. Announces the New Top Level Domain .Green Opens For Business February 12
Larkspur, CA (PRWEB) February 12, 2015 -- DotGreen Community, Inc., steward of the new .green Top Level Domain (TLD) name, announces the availability on February 12, 2015 of the world’s first cyber real estate designated for the green economy. This “Landrush” phase of the .green domain name rollout allows first movers in business, marketers, the environmental community, and the public to acquire priority registration for premium names with a .green address. The Landrush phase lasts through March 14.
After Landrush, all .green names will then become available to the business community and general public on March 24th on a first come, first served basis. The launch of .green comes in time for companies to launch their new .green web pages and showcase their green initiatives and products for Earth Day, 2015.
During the Landrush phase of availability, .green Internet addresses can be applied for online with one of the registrars listed at http://www.going.green.
“The term ‘green’ has become the globally recognized identifier in business, politics, conservation, environmentalism, and consumerism dating back at least fifty years,” said DotGreen Community, Inc. Founder, Annalisa Roger. “Today, its mainstream, and the .green digital address is positioned to become one of the most recognized TLDs across the planet as the world’s first and only online platform for consumers and businesses taking part in the green economy.”
The .green domain name is part of ICANN’s, (The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), new TLD program and represents the greatest expansion of the Internet ever seen since its inception. .green is the world’s first and only online TLD platform for the growing sustainably minded and socially responsible marketplace and the green movement. It offers a recognizable brand and shared community for today’s more values-driven companies and consumers and will become the point of interaction between producers and consumers of sustainable and healthier lifestyle goods and services.
“Our mission is to harness the massive and disruptive commercial power of the Internet for the entire green marketplace,” added Roger. “.green is a re-branding opportunity on a global scale and establishes an online destination where businesses can showcase their socially responsible and green initiatives and products…where consumers can go and find the products and services that match their values. It’s a place where the entire green community can identify and connect.”
Estimated at more than $5 trillion, the green marketplace now includes virtually all market segments, from building and technology to energy and resourcing, to organic food, beauty, health care and other lifestyle products. .green is available to those involved at all ‘shades’ or levels of green, recognizing that adoption and advancement along a path of sustainability is complex and requires innovation and adaptation. The global shift to a greener economy is already taking place, and this includes the Internet. .green is the dedicated place online that reflects the widespread progress evident today.
In addition to the green economy, .green is an online place for the larger green movement, which encompasses values-driven citizens and global organizations concerned about humanitarian issues, sustainability, education, fair trade, social justice, gender equity, and environmental challenges such as clean water, climate change and endangered species and their habitats.
DotGreen Community, Inc. commits a percentage of revenue from the sales and renewals of .green names to fund programs and projects aimed at sustainability and conservation around the world through a unique partnership with the DotGreen Foundation, a 501 (c)3 organization and a federation of the world’s leading environmental organizations known as EarthShare.
DotGreen Community, Inc. is partnered with Afilias, Ltd., an industry leader, to provide technical registry services for the .green TLD and to ensure ongoing security and stability.
