Douglas County Schools Hyundai Raffle Raises Over $45,000
Lithia Springs, Ga. (PRWEB) October 22, 2014 -- When Thornton Road Hyundai General Manager David Booth met with Douglas County school officials to discuss a “Partners In Education” program to raffle off a brand new 2015 Hyundai Sonata, he never imagined the final response. “To be able to raise over $45,000 from the sale of raffle tickets is tremendous,” Booth shared, “and for 100% of the money to benefit local schools, that is an A+ for everyone involved.”
Beginning in late August, Douglas County schools began selling raffle tickets with the grand prize being the new car. The promotion culminated on Saturday, October 4th, with a Family Festival at the Fox Hall Hunting Camp. There were games and inflatables for the youngsters as well as food and drink. Hundreds of parents, children, teachers and principals looked as Booth drew the name of Robert Hibbard as winner of the Sonata. Hibbard purchased his ticket at Chapel Hill Elementary School.
During the Family Festival, Janet Kelly, Board of Education Chair District III, commented, “It’s great for the schools, our teachers and children when the corporate community steps up in their role as ‘Partners in Education’.” Both Booth and Kelly agreed the raffle was a huge success and when looking forward to 2015, Booth said, “We’re all up for doing this again, because I have children in this school system for another 10 years!”
