Dow-Key Continues to Develop Their Product Line With the Release of New Switching Matrices.
Ventura, CA (PRWEB) July 15, 2016 -- With the demand for multi-source information switching combined with increasing signal speeds, the task of managing your broadband signal environment grows more complex by the day. Luckily, industry-leader Dow-Key couples years of RF system knowledge, design skills, tooling, with emerging manufacturing and testing capabilities to deliver new switch matrices that meet your current and future signal switching and signal analysis demands.
Designed for RF and test applications in the frequency ranges of DC-18GHz, DC-26.5GHz and DC-40GHz, Dow-Key's new Matrix product line includes various standard configurations. For more simple switching requirements, custom SPDT, DPDT, SP3T thru SP12T switches can be added to a 1U/2U/3U/4U enclosure allowing the switches to be controlled via software. For more advanced or high density testing, Dow-Key offers Multiplexers up to 1x143 ports and non-blocking bi-directional Crossbar switches with configurations up to 12x12, making their custom solution capabilities even more robust.
These new, custom solutions are all packaged in a 19-inch rack-mountable enclosure and are provided with both local and remote control interfaces. A standard enclosure will be equipped on the front panel with either a LCD with Keypad control or a Touchscreen LCD for manual override. On the rear panel, the switches can be controlled remotely through USB, RS-232 and either thru Ethernet over TPC/IP and HTTP-Server (built-in GUI website) or GPIB. New LabVIEW drivers are also available upon request.
For test-bench switching solutions, ideal for ATE applications, Dow-Key offers a new Miniature Switching series with insertion loss repeatability of 0.03dB across DC to 26.5GHz and switches with an operating life of at least 5-Million (SP6T) or 10 Million (SPDT) cycles. This solution is available in a miniature enclosure not larger than 6.29” x 3.30” x 7.05” in size and is powered up with 12Vdc (DC-to-AC adapter is included). The switches are to be controlled remotely via TCP/IP Ethernet, or HTTP-Server with a new, built-in “Sequencer” feature that allows the user to program up to ten 500-step sequence programs.
Dow-Key uses its own line of new coaxial switches for these switch matrix solutions; providing low loss and excellent isolation.
Whether you are designing a matrix or planning to purchase one, it is important to understand how every decision makes a difference in the cost of the matrix and impacts RF performance. The more components that go into a matrix, the more the system must compensate for signal loss and other RF parameters that are affected. As a result, integration of RF components in switching systems is a complex, yet highly important matter.
