Dr. Brett Mangum Earns Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship
PRESCOTT, Ariz. (PRWEB) June 30, 2015 -- Dr. Brett Mangum, owner of and principal dentist at Mangum Dental, a family dentistry practice, recently earned fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). The honor, which is held by just 7 percent of dentists nationwide, was presented to the Prescott native during the academy’s annual conference in San Francisco.
To earn fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, dentists must take more than 500 hours of continuing education courses and pass a rigorous exam.
“I’ve always been committed to achieving the highest standards of education in the profession,” said Mangum. “This fellowship represents my personal and professional philosophy to never stop learning new and promising practices that benefit my patients.”
A member of AGD since 2001, Mangum decided to pursue the fellowship shortly after graduating from dental school when he went into the Navy for a one-year residency in general dentistry. Following four years of active duty in the military, where he served in Iraq in 2005, Mangum joined his father’s dental practice in Prescott and opened a second location in Bagdad, Arizona in 2006.
Having achieved this milestone, Mangum said he now hopes to pursue the mastership award, which is the highest honor available.
“My goal is to always exceed the level of care that my patients expect,” Mangum said. “Pursuing this level of excellence is something they experience every time they walk into our offices.”
