Dr. Burke to Become Chemical Industry Practice Leader at FACTOR, INC.
Nashville, Tennessee (PRWEB) October 12, 2016 -- FACTOR, INC., a leader in solving challenging risk management problems, announced the addition of Dr. Cherry Burke as Chemical Industry Practice Leader effective October 17, 2016.

Dr. Burke brings more than 33 years of experience in chemical industry risk assessment and risk management to the team. She is joining FACTOR following her retirement from The Dow Chemical Company, where she served as Global Expertise Director, Supply Chain Safety, Security, Risk Management, and Sustainability. Prior positions included Global Transportation Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management Director (Dow Supply Chain) and as Senior Internal Consultant, Distribution Safety and Risk Management for E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company.
Dr. Burke led Dow in realizing record-setting transportation safety performance and risk reduction goals; championed initiatives to implement risk reduction strategies; and consulted on transportation safety and security risk management including carrier assessment and selection, routing, packaging design, storage and handling, and emergency preparedness and response. She has been active in chemical industry emergency response and crisis management in her roles at Dow and DuPont, including involvement in TRANSCAER®, CHEMTREC®, and mutual aid programs.

Dr. Burke has chaired the Technical Oversight Panel for the National Academies’ Transportation Research Board’s Hazardous Material Cooperative Research Program from its inception and served on the American Chemistry Council’s Distribution Committee. She holds a PhD in Epidemiologic Science and an MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from The University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
