Dr. Christian Drehsen's “Emoticon Effect” Shows Positive Social Responses Following Refresher Lift
ST. PETERSBURG, FL (PRWEB) June 25, 2015 -- The study featured patients who underwent the ‘Refresher Lift,’ a set of procedures that restores facial fitness, and 80 medical students who assessed before and after photos. A marked increase in positive reactions to post-surgery images led to notion of the Emoticon Effect: restored facial vectors lead to more pleasant resting expressions, and to subsequent positive social reactions.
As the Medical Director of Clinique of Plastic Surgery Centres, Dr. Drehsen has implemented his revolutionary Refresher Lift surgery in in both St. Petersburg and Sarasota locations. The journal article is a synopsis of Dr. Drehsen’s reasoning on moving away from the “facelift look”, and moving toward facial rejuvenation. The article includes direct results of Dr. Drehsen’s study, measuring the social impact of facial rejuvenations and how people respond to facial cosmetic surgery. The study surveyed 80 medical students, asking them to rate the level of likeliness they would like to engage a person, based solely on facial expression. Medical students looked at before and after photos of 15 different patients who had all undergone Dr. Drehsen’s Refresher Lift. The study found that students were more likely to want to meet and interact with one of the patients after his/her facial rejuvenation.
The results of Dr. Drehsen’s study shows how people respond to the six basic categories of facial expression. In the patient’s “before” photographs, natural aging of the face shows skin moving in downward lines, which suggests negative emotion to the human brain. In the “after” photographs, skin is more supple and elastic, suggesting positive emotions. Dr. Drehsen’s approach to facial rejuvenation is simple, to restore the natural beauty of each individual patient, instead of providing a “quick fix” facelift.
In the last ten years, Christian Drehsen, MD has helped more than 700 patients feel more beautiful and radiant with the Refresher Lift.
