About the Author
Dr. Richard D. Evans lives with his wife Marian on a small farm in Ormond Beach, Fla. He presently teaches physiology and microbiology at Concord University in Orlando while his two youngest children attend University of Central Florida. Dr. Evans is retired from general and vascular surgery after a 20-year career in medicine. His alma maters include Southern Illinois University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and University of Central Florida. Surgical training was received at Mt. Clemens General Hospital. In addition to medicine, he has baccalaureate degrees in physiology and history. During his active practice, he sent medical supplies and pharmaceuticals to a small hospital in rural Nigeria and had several stints performing surgery and training Nigerian medical residents. On two visits, he was accompanied first by his oldest son, Rory, and subsequently by his daughter, Armanda – both receiving valuable life lessons.
