New Orleans, La. (PRWEB) June 20, 2015 -- Dr. Glenn Toby, original pioneer of Hip Hop and New York native, through the New Orleans Chapter of his non-profit The Book Bank Foundation, is hosting the Come As You Are Community Benefit at Cafe Istanbul in New Orleans on Thursday, June 25 starting at 7:00 p.m. Donations that evening will be $10 and there will be free food, fun and live entertainment. Dr. Glenn Toby will be a speaker along with a plethora of local and nationally recognized invitees. Proceeds from this event will directly go to our programs benefitting the community.
The Book Bank Foundation was created by Dr. Toby to help the indigent community with literacy matters, abuse, homelessness and hunger. The Book Bank Foundation is changing the community by mentoring, counseling, positive behavior reinforcement and investing into the futures of those that would go primarily unnoticed. Our founder, Dr. Glenn Toby, was one of the pioneers of Hip Hop who began his career with all-star acts like Doug E. Fresh, Biz Markie, The Treacherous 3, Grand Master Flash and The Furious Five, just to name a few. Dr. Toby has transitioned his celebrity status to a true humanitarian.
